Black Canyon in Black and White

The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is a challenge to photograph. It's very narrow and deep, and little light makes it to the bottom.

While very impressive to stand near and view, photos just don't do it justice. Still, I can't help but to try.

We returned there Sunday for my third visit in the last year. Though this shot doesn't quite capture the majesty of the place, it does highlight the interesting geologic features there.
