colorado winterscape

by Craig
(Colorado)

Yesterday I drove to the top of the pass to get some shots of the morning sun hitting the valley. I was a little early, and the sky was cloudless.

Today, I returned a little later, and with a polarizing filter. As luck would have it, there were just enough clouds to make things interesting.

I was rewarded with one of my new favorite shots.

What makes this very different for me, is that I tend to take many of my landscapes in a vertical orientation, and often zoomed all the way out. For this photo, the focal length is not as wide, and I'm using a horizontal orientation (which works better for this view).
