Mt. Sopris in early April

by Lewis
(Redstone)

The arrival of spring means it's still light out when I drive home from work. On nearly every day since the start of daylight savings time began, the skies would be either cloudless or completely socked in. Nothing in between.

Yesterday, however, there were just a few clouds above Mt. Sopris, and the western sun was lighting things up nicely.

I used a polarizing filter to darken the sky and increase color saturation.

Mt. Sopris is just south of Carbondale, Colorado, and is visible throughout most of the Roaring Fork valley.
