Rotobales in a field beneath Mt. Sopris

by Craig

This is a shot I've dreamed of taking ever since I moved to the area and saw the fantastic fields of hay bales that periodically line the highway south of Carbondale.

Driving into town this morning, I saw the bales and hoped the rancher wouldn't remove them before the afternoon clouds built up. Not only was I lucky in that they were still there in the afternoon, but he left open the gate, and I was able to dart in and get a shot with the iconic Mt. Sopris behind them.
